Galcon for Android on AppBrain
- Galcon (AppBrain Link)
- $2.99 (Google Android Market)
- Basically a fast paced, fun Risk-style game in space.
- Single and Multi-Player (multiplayer requires registration with Galcon’s site)
- Five modes of play in Single Player: Classic, Vacuum, Stealth, Beast, and 3-Way
- Classic: Take over all of enemy’s planets (enemy starts with same # of planets you do)
- Beast: Take over all of enemy’s planets (enemy starts with MANY more planets than you)
- Vacuum: Beat the clock to take over every planet on a map
- Stealth: Same as classic, only you can’t see where enemy ships are headed
- 3-Way: You versus TWO enemies on one map (higher levels = complete chaos)
- In addition to modes, you have TEN levels of difficulty for all those modes and maps within them. So there’s a LOT of play time to get out of this game.
- Very fun and easy to pick up and play. Excellent game for those looking for a time-waster that’s a little bit strategic and a lot addicting.

- HEADLINE: HTC Peep or FriendStream Not Working? It’s OAuth’s Fault
- LINK: http://phandroid.com/2010/09/01/htc-peep-or-friendstream-not-working-its-oauths-fault/
- THOUGHTS:
- HTC didn’t update any iteration of their Sense UI Twitter App Peep to use OAuth
- The problem with this is Twitter officially suspended the use of any other authentication methods as of August 31.
- Lots of people having issues with Twitter/Peep/Friendstream on the native app. Forget issues, they can’t even log in!
- Does this speak to the need for a more unified UI across manufacturers?
- Do you think things like this will be ‘fixed’ in 3.0?
