In this video, I demonstrate the latest version of twhirl (0.8.4) which supports the Twitter clone, identi.ca. What makes this version so special is that it supports receiving updates via Jabber (XMPP). This means real time updates in your twhirl window! A sad thing is that this feature had been developed weeks ago, but Twitter s failure to deliver a stable XMPP service has prevented it from going live. Thanks to identi.ca s new Twitter compatible API, this feature can now be realized and enjoyed. While identi.ca s community is no where near the size of Twitter s, I m excited about it s huge growth in such a short period of time, and how quickly new features are added. Enjoy!
