CES Live Show Segments: ARIN on the Transition of IPv4 to IPv6

John Curran from the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) joins us for the TPN CES Live coverage. John talked about what is happening with IPv4 and the switch to IPv6. In the past year, the last remaining IPv4 addresses were handed out to global regions.

World IPv6 Launch takes place on June 6, 2012. Starting to connect customers up will be an organized effort, just like with the DTV transistion, or Y2K. Best part is you can go to your ISP, and ask to have IPv6 turned on.

IT departments should be prepared for this transition. 340 undecillion IP addresses, which means we could cover a good chunk of the Universe before we run out of addresses.

The datacenter also is on a cart which can be pushed, or motorized. This makes the Xi3 datacenter perfect for a small company that has limited space, a mobile company, disaster station, and more. You could literally have your server room move from room to room. Best part is the Xi3 is modular, so more additions will be coming in the future.

Xi3 Microserver will be released and priced later in the year. The datacenter will be around $500,000 .

Company Swissvoice has been around in Switzerland since 1893. They are bringing some of that technology to the US with the ePure. It’s a series of phones – a land-line version, but also a iPhone and Android version.

The iPhone dock phone lets you put your phone in to charge, but then you can use the handset to answer phone calls. If you turn the receiver on the side, you can use it as a bluetooth speaker.

The ePure also has a multi-phone solution. This is for your Android phone, or another smart phone. Once again, you can use the receiver as a cordless phone, or speakers when set on their side.

We finally looked at another device that you connect up to your router, it then will push the call to multiple lines. If you don’t pick up the land line, it rings the cell phone. Swissvoice has a patent pending. Your iPad, your iPhone and other devices can manage calls.

These products are planning to hit the US by July. The station is $99, the iPhone ePure will be $199, multi ePure will be $150. The cordless ePhone is $99.

The credit card is getting an upgrade. It also won the CES 2012 Innovation award.

Jeff Mullen, CEO of Powercards joins us to talk about the Dynamic Credit Card. They just raised over 40 million dollars to create one of the smallest devices ever developed. 70 electrical components in the size of a credit card.

This is the world’s first card re-programmable mag stripe. Push a button and the card will re-write the data to the magstripe. You can then swipe your card into the reader.

It feels like a regular credit card. You can bend it, and put in your wallet. The cards are completely sealed, so they can get wet without issue. The battery will last for up to four years.

If you have multiple accounts (personal, business), then you can push a button and your card is a business credit card. Push the other button, it is your personal credit card. After a while, the card can clear off your mag stripe, so you are forced to chose your card type again.

Another use of these cards would be Reward points. Push a button, and your card is using your rewards points.

There is another card that has a pin code on it. Enter your pin code and the system will put your card info on the mag stripe. After use, the mag stripe will clear, so your card becomes a blank piece of plastic.

Finally, Jeff showed us a medical card that will show emergency numbers and other medical information medical professionals may need to keep you alive. The card comes with a card holding case that you put in with your drivers licence. During emergencies, medical professionals look for your ID, then pull out the life card. They get a number which they put into their computers and get important information.

The cards do not have a price point. The cards will be announced later in 2012.

While at the Canon booth, we looked at the new Powershot G1 X camera. It’s a new type of point-and-shoot camera that allows you to act like a professional.

Ben Thomas talks about the sensor size of 1.5 inches. It’s much larger (9x) than other Point and shoot. This gives you amazing low light performance and “Shallow depth of field”. It’s the ability to blur out the background and focus on the subject.

It also has 14 bit raw shooting. Something you find in a $6,000 camera.

With a 3″ varied angle screen, high resolution at 922 dots. Dedicated movie button at full 1080 resolution at 24 frames (or 720 at 30 fps). .mov format.

Even though it’s a fixed lens, you can take off the ring and put on accessories. The pop-up flash will help add light, but also add a light to the shoe and your point-and-shoot becomes a pretty professional camera.

The G1X takes SD cards. The Lithium battery takes about 250 shots. The G1X will be available at the end of February for $799.

Perch has developed a device that sounds the alarm whenever you depart. It very simply reminds you to take your charger for mobile phone, GPS, radar detector, laptop or other device with you, instead of leaving it behind and coming up short on juice a few hours later.

If you’re a DJ, you probably know the name Stanton, purveyors of DJ hardware. If you’re not a DJ, you probably still know the parent company, Gibson, of the guitar fame. Either way, we’re in good company here. Todd and Steve mix it up with Darrin “B-Side” Young from Stanton.

On show is Stanton’s SCS.4DJ Digital DJ Mixstation, a self-contained digital controller that has its own built-in computer and mixing software. The Mixstation is Linux-based with proprietary software that takes advantage of the unit’s features.

The music itself is all digital (.mp3, .wav, .aac) and USB storage can either be plugged in temporarily or else more permanently fitted on the underside in media bays.

Some of the cool toys include a 4″ hi-res colour LCD screen, display of the current track’s beat and wave form, media browser and automatic synchronisation between tracks (beat match). There’s also an auto DJ feature that takes a playlist and beat matches between the tracks. Nice.

If you have old gadgets lying around your house, there are a couple things you can do with them, keep them, throw them in the trash, try to sell them on Ebay or Craiglist or you could use Gazelle. Option one isn’t very practical. Option two is bad for the environment and is illegal in most states. Option three can be a hassle. The best option to me is option four, Gazelle. Whenever I have an old gadget I want to sell or get rid of I go to Gazelle. Currently I am waiting for the box to ship my iPad version 1 to them. I am going to get $140.00 for it, which will go toward the purchase of an iPad 3.

Gazelle has been around 2006. You can trade in your old gadgets for money or recycle those that aren’t worth anything. Around 95 percent of all items they receive are worth something, the other 3 percent they will recycle properly. They handle products in 23 different categories everything including cellphones, gaming consoles, laptops and mp3 players just to name a few. Gazelle takes data removal very seriously any data that is on the device is removed using the most secure method. Gazelle gets most of their business from people who wanted to get the latest and greatest and trade in their old device. Since the release of the iPhone 4s in Oct they have received over 150,000 iPhones in trade in. They are currently getting ready for the release of the iPad 3.

The thing I didn’t know about Gazelle is they have a store, where they sell the items they receive that are in good working order. So when the iPad 3 comes out you maybe able to pick up a iPad 2 for a good price. In fact many people will buy a device from the Gazelle store and then later sell the same device back to Gazelle to get some money. In case you haven’t noticed I am a big fan of Gazelle, so if you have old gadgets you are trying to get rid of you may want to check out Gazelle.

Do you want to watch over the air TV on your laptop or tablet while traveling, then the TVman Wireless DTV Tuner by Dediprog maybe what you are looking for. It is a digital TV receiver that allows you to watch over the air TV. It transfers the signal to any computer or tablet by Wi-fi. So there are no extra wires to carry around. The cord is the antenna. Because it doesn’t depend on 3G connectivity you get a full high def signal. Unlike other options available now which depend on the 3G signal and are often compressed. Dediprog distributes the product themselves and also through other vendors. They expect to sell it in the US for around $100.00. It is available now in Japan and South America. They hope to have it available in Europe within 3 months and the US by end of the year.

Dediprog also showed off a second item which combines the wireless DTV tuner with 3G. The device can be used as a mobile hotspot or a digital TV receiver. Dediprog is trying to build partnerships with various mobile service providers which would provide the 3G connectivity. They also need to get FCC approval for both devices.

Both products are small enough to fit into a man’s front pocket. You carry them with you and as long as there is an over the air signal available you can watch TV. Not sure how long the battery last or how far the wi-fi signal travels. I expect you need to be in the same room as the device, but that is an assumption on my part. Both products will works with Android, iOS and Windows. I would love to get a hold of the device to test it, to see what kind of signal it picks up

TPN Show Coverage: Fulton Innovation’s Wireless Charging

The great thing about CES is that every now and then an unknown shows off something cool. I’d never heard of Fulton Innovation but they have smart products based around wireless power transmission. Todd learns more about eCoupled from Dave Baarman.

Fulton Innovation have developed an inductive coupling solution that scales from simply making a magazine cover light up as you walk past to being able to charge a whole bag of devices without taking them out of the bag. Electric cars could be recharged by parking in the right spot and not by plugging them in.

Not all of these products are ready for market just yet, but inductive charging efficiencies are on a par with plug-in chargers though economies of scale are needed to bring the prices down to a point where it’s built-in as standard. Palm’s Pre range of smartphones used inductive charging with the Touchstone and the Motorola Droid 4 has inductive charging as an option. As a Pre 3 owner, it’s brilliant not having to fiddle with cables and I hope more devices come to the market with inductive charging in 2012.

Rocstor has unveiled a new portable external hard drive that practically guarantees that your data won’t be stolen. The hard drive, which comes in capacities up to 1 TB, has a slot for a smart card. Enter the card, punch in your code (which you choose), and you unlock the drive and all of the data you have stored on it. The drives are FIP certified and ship with multiple cards. For users that need additional cards, they can be purchased blank and inserted into a unit to be programmed to work with it. PIN Numbers can be changed an unlimited number of times as well.

These hard drives are probably not for average consumers, but more for business and government. They are designed to protect highly-sensitive data and eliminate those stories that are always in the news these days about stolen laptops filled with account and credit card information. The drives retail in the $400-600 range and are available now from Rocstor.

Qualcomm which is known for its silicon and wi-fi technology for handsets and tablets is spreading into software and service. One of the consumer products they are currently developing is called Skifta. It is a media shifting platform which works through DLNA-certified and UPnP -compatible devices. DLNA protocol has been around for about eight years. Most TVs today which are over 36 inches and Internet enable are DLNA capable. The Web site of your TV’s manufacture should let you know if your TV is DLNA capable. DLNA is a nonprofit trade organization which enables the sharing of digital media between various consumer devices by defining interoperability guidelines. Because DLNA is a nonprofit organization they don’t have the money to spend on advertising and promotion, so its adoption has been slow but steady. The growth of the Smart or Connected TV market has help to increase its popularity over the last 12-18 months. Its biggest rival is Apple’s Air Play.

Qualcomm was showing off its software platform Skifta at CES 2012, which works with the DLNA platform. Think of Skifta as Airplay for Android. Once Skifta is installed on your Android device, it will go out and find any DLNA enabled device including TV’s, computers and the Playstation. You can then sending any media that is available on your network to that device. Skifta also gives you access to various Internet providers including Revision3, Ted Talks, Facebook and others.

Qualcomm is also developing a Skifta audio adapter which you attach to a receiver that is not DLNA enable and enable it. They are also making a DLNA platform that can be installed easily by the manufacture into a receiver. I installed the Skifta application on my Android phone and it almost immediately connected and found the media on my network. Once I set up an account it also let me pick up media from Revision3 and Ted Talks among others. Unfortunately I don’t have a connected TV, so for me its use is limited, but I love its possibilities.

TPN Show Coverage: Yale Locks Brings High Tech to the Common Door

Yale has new home door locks that bring a high-tech flare to your house. These aren’t your average doorsets – they have touch-screens and smartphone apps. You can buy the locks alone from many retailers, like Amazon, however, they are big with custom installers of home security systems. Now they have introduced NFC (near field communication) to their locks. That means you don’t need a key or a code. Your phone alone can unlock the door just by being close to it. If you are worried about your phone being lost or stolen then you can set up a secondary line of security such as a pass code. You can also revoke a mobile key via the web site if a phone gets lost. In addition, you can assign a separate code to each person in your home and even have the lock send you a text when someone passes through the door. Yale Locks are available on the market today, and the ones with NFC technology will be arriving soon. Prices and availability have not yet been determined.

TPN Show Coverage: Vertix Wireless Helmet Communication

Wireless communication has been around for several years in the sport of professional bicycle racing. Team managers use it communicate back and forth with their riders during races. Vertix has it’s own wireless communication solution, but this one is added into motorcycle helmets.

The Vertix hardware comes in a couple of different styles so that it can be used with both full-face and open-face helmets. Both the speaker and microphone can be easily mounted to almost any helmet. In fact, they claim an installation time of only minutes. The buttons can easily be tapped while riding to allow communication with other riders in your group or access to a cell phone. The units can paired with a group of up the three riders, and of course between rider and passenger as well. The published range for communication is 500 meters, but Vertix claims it can sometimes reach up to 1 km. One final feature, a handlebar-mounted remote control will be coming out soon. Duracell is starting in one the mecca’s of sports, Madison Square Garden, in their pursuit to build a network of wireless charging everywhere you go. They will be partnered with some 2013 cars and envision a future of airports, coffee shops, and more where your devices will just charge wirelessly simply by being there in that location.

Partnered with Proctor and Gamble, Duracell is perhaps the first to tackle this market, and they are in it in a big way with lots of expansion plans. Your phone won’t just magically charge by being present in a location, though. There will be Powermat stations available in locations where you will likely spend an extended period of time, like coffee shops, bars, and the like. They also plan a Google Maps app that will show you charging locations in your area. In fact, eventually they envision the Powermat technology built right into new devices with no case necessary.

TPN Show Coverage: iOnRoad Turns Your Old Car into a High-Tech Safety Machine

The slogan “Turn your smartphone into a personal driving assisstant” should give you a quick overview of exactly what iOnRoad is all about. The smartphone app works in conjunction with the camera in your phone to watch what is going on in front of you and warn you of things like if you are getting too close to another vehicle or of lane drift.

The app is built to work in all light conditions, including at night, and gives audio alerts when it detects any dangers. iOnRoad claims the app uses 30 percent less battery power than your mapping app. The iOnRoad app is currently free, but will be $9.99 soon. You can find it in the Android Market, but it will be coming to iPhone later as well. Nanotech waterproof coatings have been quite the fashion at CES this year but Liquipel‘s offering is a little bit different. Todd and Steve learn more from Kevin Bacon of Liquipel.

Liquipel have developed a nanotechnology-based liquid-repelling coating for electronic devices that makes the device waterproof for short periods of immersion. This sounds pretty much like ever other waterproofing technology on the market…except Liquipel can waterproof gadgets you already own. Woah!

For only $59, you can send Liquipel a phone or mp3 player and they will waterproof it for you. At the moment there’s a restricted list of devices that Liquipel will coat but the list includes some Apple, Motorola, Samsung and HTC devices. The list of approved devices will expand over time and if you have a particular need, you can get in touch with them.

Somewhere in the back of a closet in a box, I have a portable TV. I use to carry it with me when I went camping or to a ball game. If I wanted to watch TV would simply turn it on and pull out the antenna and I was ready to go. Unfortunately when everything went digital, the TV became useless. Mobile Content Venture has joined with Samsung and Metro PCS, the 5th largest wireless carrier to bring mobile live TV back to the US consumer. The handset is made by Samsung and has an embedded mobile E. DTV tuner. Mobile Content Venture created the software application called Dyle which allows you to watch live TV over the device. Once the device is released in the US it will be available in 14 cities. They hope to expand to up to 32 cities. Depending on your location you can receive up to 6 channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS and ION. You can also use Twitter, Facebook on the device.

If you already have a iOS device, then you might want to consider a Belkin accessory. This is a small dongle which connects to your iOS device using the 30 pin connector. Normally you would need an antenna to watch live TV however Belkin and Mobile Content Venture have developed a way around that problem by making the headphones the antenna. When you are ready to watch TV, just hit the Dyle application and you are ready to go.

At this time there is no pricing or availability date for the US for either of these two devices. The Dyle application will be free and available from the iOS store.

It happens to all of us, we follow so many people and companies on various social media sites that we miss the things we are really interested in. Let’s face it most of us have a handful of people or business that we are truly interested in, our family and close friends, maybe a company we are interested in or a favorite band. In the flood of social media, those are the things that are so easy to miss. That is the problem that Qubeey is trying to solve.

It is a cube that sits on your desk top. It captures the information from those you are really interested in and saves them for you to view when it’s convenient. Qubeey also has more visual cues, videos and images than other methods have. It allows you to stay connected with out having a web page open. When you get home at the end of the day you can see that your favorite band has released a new album and has one of their songs on YouTube. Click on it and watch it. Maybe you get a kick out of the crazy things your best friend says on Twitter, but you miss half of them because you are at work, well no more. It also allows business to target people who are truly interested in them. You can also use Skype or GoToMeeting with out ever leaving Qubeey. No more having to have an extra window or tab open in a browser and then having to click on it everytime you want to check your updates. Qubeey sits on your desktop and notifies you when something important to you is posted. Qubeey is currently free and still in beta and unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, Have you used Qubeey what do you think of it

IEEE, the commonly used abbreviation for the Institute for Electronics and Electrical Engineers, dropped by the TPN booth last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to chat a bit about what is going on with the organization right now.

IEEE.org looks at all aspects of today’s technology, but also helps to set standards for some of it. You may have seen their logo on some products, but they have their hands on a lot more than you may realize, like 3D for instance. They also offer a lot of conferences on a broad range of topics and a large digital library that is open to the public. In addition, they also work with people to ensure the technical accuracy of papers and documentation before publication.

The video below is a fascinating, but technical, look behind the scenes. If you are interested by how this industry works, though, it’s worth checking out.

Fitness Technologies has been making waterproof MP3 players since 1996. This year, Fitness Technologies introduced a new line of waterproof video cameras designed for rugged outdoor use.

The first is a helmet-mountable cameras and lamps – up to 3,000 lumens. That is a bright light, no different than a headlight. The light has an interesting look, because they contain a heat-sink to keep the light’s heat down.

Fitness Technologies have mini cameras that fit into a waterproof case.

FitnesstechUSA cameras retail for $200 to $250 and are available now.

If you are a non-profit, this is a great way to get donations. People would log on to Snoball and integrate giving tp charities of your choice.

For instance, if you set a goal, you can donate to a cause. These triggers will act when something happens. For instance. I could say: I’ll donate $100 if my Twitter followers reach 1,000. When that happens, the trigger is tripped and your account will send the money.

This can work with a business – after so many Foursquare check-ins, a business could donate to their charity. There is also a cap, just in case the Snoball goes viral. You don’t want to break the bank.

There are over 1.6 million nonprofits to send donations to. These are 501C and 170C non-profits, as registered by the government. Start a Snoball, Share a Snoball and see the good.

For instance, there is a Snoball right now that when Jeremy Lin scores, someone is donating 5 cents to Garden of Dreams Foundation.

They are working on defined categories, but you can definitely search for local charities to give money to. There is no “random” option, but Snoball does feature charities that you could get behind.

For those artists, CAD designers and more. Wacom is back at CES with their newest version of Cintiq drawing tablets, the 24HD.

This is a drawing board that is connected directly to the computer – Mac or PC. Wacom’s newest pen, with 2048 levels of pressure, it will recognize and react to the pen. You could make it so sensitive, the pen doesn’t have to touch the screen.

The screen is 1920×1200 with 92% Adobe Gamma color. The base does swivel, so you can move the Wacom as you continue to draw.

The Wacom is $2495 and available now.

While at the Verizon booth, we saw the newest in business jukebox from Touchtunes. These devices are running off the 4G LTE service from Verizon. That way, you don’t have to connect an Ethernet cable for easy install.

We walk through the process of getting the songs. The new photobooth option lets you create memories for your friends. The photobooth takes 6 pictures, which you choose four. You add filters and frames, type in your email address and your pictures are sent.

The Touchtunes jukebox also has a Karaoke feature. Find the song, grab a microphone and start singing. You can also download an application, then plug songs into your favorite jukebox through the mobile device.

Touchtunes is part of the Verizon innovation program. This juke is available now, with photobooth and karaoke in the future.

Casio came on to the live show to talk about the Casio GreenSlim projector. At 1.7 inches high, this is a great mobile presentation projector.

There is no mercury lamp in the projector. The GreenSlim projector provides 3,000 Lumens of brightness for this 5 pound projector. They use laser and LED light source. They can get 20,000 hours out of this projector. They are also extending the warranty to 5 years. This will give you a 120 inch projection in any lighted room.

The GreenSlim has an instant-on, instant-off. That means no waiting for the lamp to warm up, so you can turn on the projector and start presenting. With VGA, HDMI and composite input, you can get resolutions of XJ 1024×768 and wide XJ at 1280×800.

The Slim line of projectors also runs with a mobile application called Mobishow – You will be able to wirelessly connect via your mobile device straight to the projector.

The GreenSlim starts at $999, but with the longer lasting light, you can see a better return on investment.

You just put your information in the phone. Tag it with specific names. Then, when you want to look back, search on the tags.

Catch looks at the stories. Instead of post-it notes all over the place, you can have the journal on the phone.

Steve was also catching all lyrics from his band. That way, he could come back to get all the words they were thinking of.

Catch Notes is a free service, and available on Android and iOS devices.

Gunnar‘s digital performance eyewear is a range of spectacles designed for people who spend too much time in front of a screen. Typically stylish and yellow-lensed, Todd occasionally wears a pair of Gunnars while doing the GNC show.

Joe Croft dropped in to show off the latest specs and Gunnar currently has a four-way line-up with Advanced Computer, Advanced Gaming, Premium 3D and Advanced Outdoor eyewear. As you might guess, three out of the four are primarily for indoor use only.

The Advanced Computer eyewear is for those people who use computer screens all day and the glasses help with the typical symptoms of prolonged computer use, such as a lowering in the blink rate leading to dry eyes, tired eye muscles from short range focussing and poor light quality from fluorescent lights. The technology in Gunnar glasses addresses each of those issues to make the eyes more comfortable while using a computer screen.

The new Spring 2012 collection is now out at Gunnars. Prices from $80 – $300 for standard lenses. Budget up to $700 for custom prescription lenses from Zeiss.

TPN Show Coverage: Guardian Trace for Your iOS Device

Guardian means security, but a new company called Baytan labs is taking that security into the mobile world with the Guardian Trace for iOS devices. It works with your device’s contacts list and can be set up to send easy alerts if you find yourself in a bad situation. A countdown is begun if you fail to deactivate with your PIN and when it reaches 0 an alert is sent to the contact(s) of your choice via both email and text stating that you have failed to check in from whatever event you enabled, such as a jog or date. The alert will also include your last known location.

The app can also be used on an iPod, which, if you are going for a run, is useful, since that is a common device to carry along. The app also has a simple “Send Panic Alert” button so if a situation unexpectedly arises you can quickly send a message for help. The app is currently free, although that will apparently change later when some premium services will become available. It is currently only available for iOS devices and you can find out more by visiting Baytan Labs.

TPN Show Coverage: Diamond Wireless Range Extender and Set-Top Box Preview

I remember building a PC many years ago and at that time, Diamond Multimedia was one of *the* graphics card companies. I even seem to remember that it was VL-bus card, so that dates it to a pre-Pentium era. Anyway, it’s great to see that Diamond is still around when so many others have fallen by the wayside. Todd interviews Louis Kokenis from Diamond Multimedia on the latest products.

The Diamond Wireless Range Extender has three functions in one. First, it’s a wireless repeater that eliminates deadspots in wireless coverage. Second, it’s a wireless bridge that will connect a wired network device to the wireless network and third, it’s a standalone wireless access point, creating wireless hotspot from a single network point. With regard to the last mode, the WR300N’s small size means that it’s great for travelling and creating a wireless network in a hotel room. On-sale now for around $60.

Diamond will be introducing an Android-based TV set-top box that combines web browser, media player, ebook reader, game console, anything that can be downloaded from the Android Market. It won’t be tied to any particular media provider as it will either be able to download an app, e.g. Netflix, or else it will be able to browse to any website and play media directly. Sounds cool, especially if it runs ICS.

TPN Show Coverage: Nyxio VioSphere Splits your TV and PC

Nyxio is a new company that is looking to integrate your computer and your TV. They have a product, the VioSphere, which literally splits your monitor screen into half PC and half television. The VioSphere is a touch-screen monitor that has a built-in web-cam and microphone to allow you to video-conference while you are watching that big game on the other half of your screen. It’s like the old picture-in-picture TV features, which allows you to watch both or go full-screen with one or the other.

It functions like an all-in-one PC with a DVD burner also built-in. While it runs on the Windows platform they also are partnered with Bluestacks to include Android apps as well. It also comes with a wireless keyboard and built-in WiFi. As for the TV end of things, it just takes a normal coax input. The VioSphere comes in a wide range of sizes spanning 21″ (although their website states the low end at 32″) all the way up to 65″. TPN Show Coverage: CTX Technologies Mini All-In-One Computer, iPhone Dock

There are some very small computers on the market these days, but CTX Technologies may have one of the most interesting of these new small-form-factor devices. The new box has a mini touch screen and a projector with range up to 80 feet so this tiny screen can be seen as a very big screen on your wall. It has an Intel Atom processor, HDMI port, USB, WiFi, Bluetooth, and more.

CTX Technologies also showed off an iPhone dock that not only charges your handset but can project a virtual keyboard onto the surface in front of it and allow you to type emails, documents, or whatever simply by touching the “buttons”.

AirPlay is a standard introduced by Apple, but it has been picked up by many audio hardware makers to get their products integrated with the Apple and iTunes ecosystem. Philips is introducing a whole new line of AirPlay-compatible products from entry-level all the way up to the high-end of audio.

Philips has a stand-alone speaker with built-in WiFi and a WPS button to easily connect to your home router and you can control them through an app of your PC, Mac, or mobile device. They are also introducing a new pair of headphones that are towards the high-end of this category as they made from premium materials like leather, memory foam, and have a durable, cloth-lined wire.
