      Seesmic Experiment

      by Andrew McCaskey
Today’s video is a continued experiment in the user generated site Seesmic. I am not sure if the Seesmic demographic is a good match to the SDRNews audience, but like the ongoing adventures looking at YouTube I think that it will be a great opportunity to try some different approaches to new media.
One of the areas that I am struggling with is the transition from podcasting to “New Media” in all forms. Podcasting is a smooth transition for most people in my age group who grew up on radio and most particularly radio as the principal source of news while commuting.

An appreciable number of SDRNews listeners consume the program at their desks - and as video (user produced content) begins to grow, I think there is some place for this medium in the mix, without degrading the experience.

Right now, I have the Seesmic program broken into four segments. Is that about right ? or would you prefer a single program slightly longer than the regular audio program ?

How do you see video in the mix for SDRNews ?
